Reporting an unwanted SMS to 33700
A free report, in two messages, from any French mobile.
33700 is the French number dedicated to reporting unwanted SMS and calls. It is free and available on every operator. Reporting a message does not remove it from your phone, but it feeds the scheme that lets operators identify and then cut off the numbers behind fraudulent campaigns.
How to report an SMS
- 1
Forward the SMS to 33700
In your messaging app, use the "forward" action on the suspicious message and send it to 33700. Forwarding is free and is not deducted from your plan.
- 2
Reply with the sender's number
The service answers automatically to ask for the number that sent you the message. Send it back as is, with no spaces and no added country code.
- 3
Do not click any link in the message
A link in a fraudulent SMS usually leads to a page imitating a well-known site in order to capture your credentials or your bank details.
- 4
Block the number on your phone
Blocking is separate from reporting: it protects you immediately, while the report acts on the source.
The STOP notice is a legal obligation
In France, every commercial SMS must state a simple, free way to opt out, usually as "STOP au 36111" or a keyword to send back. Replying STOP must be enough to stop the sending. A marketing message without that notice is in breach, and its sender is separately required to have obtained your prior consent under the GDPR.
What French law regulates
- Commercial prospecting by SMS requires the recipient's prior, explicit consent.
- Every commercial message must carry a simple, free means of opting out: the STOP notice.
- The advertiser's identity must be identifiable within the message.
- Bloctel covers telephone canvassing and does not apply to SMS: for those, the scheme is 33700.

Mon SMS Gratuit is reserved for personal, one-off sending. Advertising campaigns, bulk sending and commercial prospecting are prohibited by our terms of use. If you received an unwanted SMS, it did not come from our forms; do use the contact form, however, to report any abuse involving our gateway.
