Sending a free SMS from a computer or phone has never been easier. No plan, no app and no sign-up: everything happens right in your browser.
Steps to send a free SMS
- Enter the recipient's number — a French mobile starting with
06or07. - Write your message — up to 160 characters for a single SMS.
- Confirm the send — after a short 60-second countdown designed to prevent abuse.
That's it: your message is sent to its recipient right away. The step-by-step guide covers each stage in more detail.
Why a countdown?
The 60-second delay before confirmation is an anti-abuse measure. It prevents accidental sends and blocks automated use of the service. The delay is verified server-side, so it cannot be bypassed.
Works with every carrier
The service works with Orange, SFR, Bouygues Telecom, Free Mobile and all French virtual operators (MVNOs). As long as the number starts with 06 or 07, your SMS can be sent — number portability means the prefix no longer tells you which network a number belongs to.
Tips for a well-received message
- Avoid special characters and emojis, which may be converted.
- Stay under the 160-character limit to send in a single SMS.
- Double-check the number before confirming: a sent SMS cannot be cancelled.
